At the end of the German Headstart program the class takes a field trip, and the family is allowed to come along. The trip was to Mainz.
Kids playing in the fountain.... anyone wanna push?
Part of the trip was a tour through a winery which used to be a house.
We thought the chinese dragons were neat.
Mark's teacher, Ingrid, helped us keep the kids busy.
Joe helping to showcase some product.
Kadence and a cask outside the winery.
Bacchus, Roman God of wine and agriculture.
Chancellor Bismark
He stayed and worked in this office.
Miriam, the lady in red on the right, was our tour guide for the day.
Kids taking a break and getting some energy out.
It was a neat day. We were able to go to the train station to look around, eat at an imbiss to practice German, and to enjoy other newly transplanted soldiers and families company.

I lived in Mainez for 4 years and it was pretty. I miss being in Europe. My family and I had a wonderful time in Mainez. If you ever get a chance go to finthen just right outside of mainez. A little vintage town. There they serve the best pizza!!
